A somewhat rare and unique plant with a large fountain shape. Can be trained to a single trunk or a multi-stemmed shrub. Creamy white flowers appear in late summer, followed in fall by an even showier display of small, purple fruits and rose pink calyces. Exfoliating bark adds to winter interest. Often called the Crape Myrtle of the North.. Mature Size: 15′-20′ x 8′-10′ after 10 years.
