So named because of its large, heart shaped fruit that develpos a purple skin with blood red flesh when ripe. Grown on Citation rootstock and should reach 12-18′. Pale pink flowers in early spring require a pollinator nearby. Santa Rosa is recommended. Fruit ripens late, usually September. Plant in sun in a moist but well drained location.. Mature Size: 12-18′ x 12-15′ after 5-7 years. Full Sun (6+ Hours).
