Fall is for fescue, and given the unexpected arrival of cooler-than-normal temperatures, we may be able to get a jump start on planting this cool-season grass from seed. Join Paul James as he talks you through the steps required to ensure success, from sowing to mowing. This event is free, but registration is required.

Local vendors, princesses, live music, food, train rides, AND Paul James, all in one day? You bet! Join us on Saturday, October 4, for a Harvest Market that has just about everything! Paul James and Jenn Smith kick things off with "All About Bulbs" at 10 a.m. (RSVP at tinyurl.com/aboutbulbs), and afterward there will be lunch by The Dogfather available as well as live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a royal visit from princesses Cinderella and Ariel from 2 to 4 p.m., not to mention all of the amazing local vendors that will be here throughout the day from 9a.m. to 4 p.m.!

The beauty of bulbs is hard to beat, and planting them is about as easy as it gets. But the best thing about bulbs is that nearly all of them come back year after year, often for decades. Join Paul James and Jennifer Smith (our Solution Center whiz) as they discuss the basics of bulb planting and the choices available -- including many you may not be familiar with, but really should grow. Join us on Saturday, December 6, for our first ever Holiday Kokedama Workshop, where you'll get to create two kokedama - one with an amaryllis and one with a Christmas cactus - for the price of one! These festive creations make for beautiful gifts, or you could keep them both for yourself to enjoy.
